The May Moonshot Event is already in the rear-view mirror, but players still look it up because Mike Moustakas, packs, and old market prices matter when planning MLB The Show 26 stubs moves around expired content.
What the expired Moonshot path actually offered
This version of Moonshot was not the WBC one, and that mix-up still catches people. The later program expired on May 22, 2026, and it stretched to 100 Program Points instead of stopping at 50. The real prize sat in the middle: 93 overall Mural Series Mike Moustakas at third base. You got 10,000 XP early, a few standard packs, then Moustakas, then the Deluxe Mural Pack. The 100-point slot is the messy bit, since archived sources disagree between an Events Rewind Pack and a vague bonus reward.
- Reach 10 Program Points first for the only listed XP payout, worth 10,000 XP.
- Push to 25 Program Points if you want the 3x The Show Pack reward.
- Get to 50 Program Points for 93 overall Mural Series Mike Moustakas.
How the missions pushed players to swing big
Moonshot did what Moonshot always does: it rewarded loud contact. The mission stack was built around hits, runs, total bases, extra-base hits, home runs, wins, and Parallel XP. So yeah, trying to poke singles all night was the slow lane. A single homer counted as a hit, one run, four total bases, an extra-base hit, and progress toward PXP. Ten homers could wipe out several stat goals by itself. The 30,000 PXP task was the real time sink, though, because that one needed full-game volume, not just one lucky inning.
- Power bats mattered most because homers overlapped with almost every offensive mission on the board.
- Mural Series cards were useful early only if you already owned them before earning Moustakas.
- Wins still mattered, since five event wins carried a clean 15 Program Point payout.
Reality check: If you quit too fast, the PXP grind probably dragged longer than the hitting missions.
Where Moustakas fits, and where players get tripped up
Moustakas was not locked behind full completion, which is the detail a lot of people miss. He showed up at 50 Program Points, so the back half was extra value rather than the required chase. His scraped market numbers, 43,425 Buy Now and 38,016 Sell Now, are useful only as a snapshot. Prices move. Event cards get weird when supply dries up, packs rotate, or collections create sudden demand. Also, don't assume the earned copy was sellable unless the game screen said so. Program reward rules can be annoyingly specific.
- Do not confuse this Mural Series program with the March WBC Moonshot Event.
- Do not treat the 100-point reward name as guaranteed without in-game confirmation.
- Do not link Munetaka Murakami or Jacob Misiorowski to this reward path without source support.
